Creating a network of watershed educators in Western New York
The Niagara River/Lake Erie (NRLE) Watershed covers more than 2,000 square miles of land, 4,000 miles of rivers and streams, and 55 school districts in Western New York. For the thousands of students who call this area home, the NRLE Watershed is the best backdrop for learning.
In the NRLE Classroom, learning is hands-on, place-based, and student-centered. NRLE Classroom teachers use the Meaningful Watershed Educational Experience (MWEE) framework to create learning that is hands-on, place-based, and student-centered.
Reinstein Woods supports a range of MWEE programming, including our “Day in the Life of the NRLE Watershed” field experience. Find out more about this event and the NRLE Classrooms program by navigating the links below.
