Welcome to Reinstein Woods

Tour the woods
The ferocious suburban development of the 20th century didn’t often respect natural, unspoiled landscapes. But even the industrial titans were smitten by the stunning beauty of Reinstein Woods.

Nestled uniquely in a suburban community lies our 292-acre nature preserve and education center. Within it flourishes a complex ecosystem of woods, ponds and wetlands. Aptly named after Dr. Victor Reinstein, our founder and champion, Reinstein Woods is one of only seven nature preserves protected by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

While you’re here, you’ll likely to cross paths with many species of wildlife native to Western New York, including white-tailed deer, beavers, waterfowl, red-tailed hawks, pileated woodpeckers and majestic great blue herons.

Just as every visit to Reinstein is an adventure, so is the development of this new website.  Check back often for new content, coming soon!

Programs Offered

Our goal is to help you share in nature’s harmony, and that  means sharing the Reinstein experience with others. These are some of the programs we offer.
